The creation of the Independent Media Alliance was initiated by Whitney Webb of Unlimited Hangout, Ryan Cristián of The Last American Vagabond, and Derrick Broze of The Conscious Resistance Network.

The IMA brings together a variety of independent journalists, filmmakers, content creators, authors and investigators with the intention of offering complex deconstructions of the geopolitical stage. There is no agenda behind the IMA other than doing top tier journalism and non-partisan reporting. Truth is the goal. There is no interest in moving the goal post.
